Now here's a rather interesting concept... Feit is a brand of handcrafted shoes, but with a twist when it comes to production and sales. Every month Feit email their fans images of their newest samples and the fans have 10 days to request: "MAKE ME A PAIR". But there is a maximum availability for every pair based on how much material stock Feit has in-house. Only when maximum capacity is reached, does production begin. Meaning... zero waste!
The brands' founders have declared that Feit is a response to a mass produced, bottom line driven fashion industry. An industry "disconnected from the traditional art of shoe making". I wonder if they might be inspired to go one step further from zero waste to using sustainable materials ;-) Feit is also on twitter.
