A supermarketfish revolution!

A supermarketfish revolution!

In a move to reduce pressure on the 'Big 5' fish species: cod, haddock, tuna, salmon and prawns, customers of UK supermarket chain Sainsbury's will now be offered lesser known species for free (while stocks last).

If people start buying more fish varieties like pouting, megrim, coley, and mackerel, we'll be able to put the brakes on declining fish stocks. This is obviously a pretty good marketing tactic but with a very real environmental benefit! Will any other supermarkets follow suit...? Here are some of Sainsbury's ambassador Jamie Oliver's new video recipes for those fish too. See my earlier post on Greenpeace's fish campaign :-)
