A pop up park

A pop up park

Residents of Amsterdam neighbourhood De Baarsjes (the area with least amount of green space per square meter) have come up with a fresh idea: a 'pop-up' park.

We all know about 'pop-up stores', in which empty spaces are used temporarily as a shopping area. But this is the first time I've ever heard of a pop-up patch of green. It'll be located in the old Mercator School, between Jan Evertsenstraat en Jan Maijenplein (square). It's been dubbed 'Tuin van Jan' (Jan's Garden in English) and there'll be a special opening on Sunday 29 May at 11.00. Cute :-)
