After 25 years of photographing humans, Alex ten Napel wanted something different. He choose to put chickens in centre of the attention.
As a busy photographer, living in the city, Alex ten Napel finds peace in the country side. The calming sound of cackling chickens caught his attention and the result is a stunning series of portraits.
Ten Napel: 'With humans there are so many emotions involved during a shoot, whereas a chicken just wants to be a chicken. A chicken makes you humble as a photographer. She's not hip and always stays the same; a chicken.'
