Afriek: womenswear collection

Some stories behind your clothing are better left untold. In contrast to fast fashion brands, our Strawberry Earth Academy fellows from Afriek are not shy at all: Sivan and Kars are proud to share the story behind their hand tailored garments. Garments that combine Dutch design with African prints and craftsmanship. Today it’s time for a new chapter in their story: Afriek launches a womenswear collection and pops up in Amsterdam North.

Womenswear collection
In 2013 Afriek launched their first blazer collection through a crowdfunding campaign. Since then their menswear line grew massively, selling their collections in stores and in their webshop. The African prints and positive vibes made so many women jealous (guilty), Afriek made the next step: dresses, bras and skirts. Together with designer Lisa Konno they created a small collection, with no more than 20 pieces made in one print. You can pre-order one of their limited edition pieces with a 10% discount on Oneplanetcrowd.

Popping up at KNSM 301
Rather shop offline? Good news. Afriek’s blazers (for men) are available at KNSM 301 until Wednesday, 30 September 2015. KNSM 301 is a temporary art gallery and concept store, showcasing upcoming talents. Next to beautiful blazers, you can find wallhanging, felt rugs, porcelain and jewelry over at KNSM 301’s.
