It’s a textile festival

On Saturday, 16 May 2015 our Strawberry Earth Academy fellows Brecht Duijf and Lenneke Langenhuijsen from Buro BELÉN are one of the keynotes at Textiel Festival 2015 in Leiden. During the conference 'Dutch Textile Design' these materializers will speak about innovative and wooden textiles.

You may know BELÉN for 'Wooden Textiles' and clothing label '18-11-81'. Wooden Textiles explores the unique character of Tapa: a wooden cloth produced through an ancient and sustainable handicraft from Tonga. 18-11-81 takes material and intensity of use as premises for a new product: fashion with an effortlessly intelligent design.

This conference in Leiden is packed with interesting speakers. Head of TextielLab at the Textile Museum Tilburg Hebe Verstappen will be there, just like Ingeborg de Roode, textile curator Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Check out the complete conference programme here.
