Inglorious groceries

Inglorious groceries

Hideous oranges, disfigured eggplants and failed lemons: French supermarket Carrefour campaigned inglorious fruits and vegetables to create awareness for food waste.

With success, in two days they sold over 1200 kilos of fruits and veggies that normally would’t make it to the supermarket.

Soon you can buy not so pretty products in Amsterdam too. Dump supermarket Gekke Gerrit (Crazy Gerrit) will open its doors in September. Gerrit will sell more inglorious products. Products with dated or damaged packaging for example.

Yay for ugly groceries.
