GFMP ♥’s greening Romania

On June 14 and June 15, the Green Filmmaking Project’s Dorien Grötzinger, and professional Dutch Producer Brechtje Smidt (Deepeei Film Productions), held a workshop on green filmmaking during the Pelicam International Film Festival; check out photos from the event here

The natural surroundings of Tulcea, Romania could not have been more perfect for the hosting of a workshop on sustainable film production, as Tulcea itself, is located near a nature reserve surrounding the Danube Delta. Benjamin Ribout‘s vision (Director of the Pelicam Festival) aims to put visitors in touch with nature, alongside the most important international films concerning the environment: Mission Accomplished!

The Green Film Making Project’s festival workshops explored the lucrative solutions and innovative technologies that are currently available to the film industry, throughout all levels of production; and to a very enthusiastic Romanian crowd!

The festival’s focus on the environment aims to meaningfully inform audiences, while generating ideas, and possible solutions for sustainable development. It consists of film screenings, open-air concerts, workshops, photo exhibitions, and discussions/seminars.

This year, we were very honoured to be a part of the festival- as a leading festival for film with content regarding people and the environment- and our experiences there are proof that green filmmaking continues to take over Europe!
